Tokyo Ghoul (2014 Anime)

So yeah currently I got addicted to this new 2014 anime title Tokyo Ghoul (Read More about Tokyo Ghoul Here). This anime was aired on 3th of July 2014 and it is still ongoing. Wikipedia said that this anime has about 12 episodes.
(Scene from the anime of Tokyo Ghoul)

(Page from manga of Tokyo Ghoul)

So Yeah. I will brief this anime a bit, because the anime is currently only has 6 episodes right now (and I only watch until the updated episodes only).

Tokyo Ghoul
Just by reading the name, clearly it is about Ghouls who live in Tokyo. So What is a Ghoul? Well I also not sure the real definition of them (HAHAHAHAHA). The things I know are they devour humans flesh, they also cannot eat human foods as their tongues are different from the human, so like, when they eat normal foods, it taste awful in their mouths and they will vomit. The human foods also will affect their health (some kind of foods poisoning or something like that, pretty interesting right?)

The only human drinks they can drink is coffee. I am not quite sure why, or more like I do not know how to explain it briefly, but in the anime, they did stated why. So I'm recommend readers to watch it. The situation where the ghouls are living in the human society forced them to act like human. They have to work, go to school and eat human foods (but then they will have to vomit it back before the foods completely digested as it will ruin their health.) and live a normal human life. Even though not all ghouls will be like that. Some of them will wander around and kill human for food.

In the anime and the manga, they did stated that one human is enough for the ghoul to survive for about one month without eating anymore human. But some of the ghouls like to eat for pleasure and something like that.

(Pages from Manga Tokyo Ghoul "Ghoul Characteristics")

So something that readers can learn from this series, probably how the world works, especially when it is about surviving in this wicked world. I do not know why like I have this feelings like this series can be related to nowadays life style. The greedy attitudes, seeking for pleasure (hedonism) and the selfishness in our society. Though not everyone is like that.

Human is a greedy being.

We cannot deny this though. We always want more. Though not entirely of this series can be related to the world though. But the cannibalism, it is kind of talking about how human now days can sometimes be the "ghoul" and betray us (or something like that).

Okay so I am almost go off on a tangent again. So basically, this series is really a good reading materials and really should be watch by many people. Though it is a bit violent as it has all this blood scenes and killings and any other PG13 scenes. Anyway, the arts and illustrations are one of the best, all the characters are beautifully drawn.

Currently I am waiting for the episode 7 (Eng subs) to come out. Readers who are interested to download it can download the anime from here. I always download from that page and I guarantee the satisfaction of the readers. As for the manga, readers can read online from Mangafox, Mangahere and all other manga sites. (Try Google it for more)

COSPLAY

COSPLAY
so, cosplay is a short terms of costume play according to Wikipedia. But just by looking at the participants which called as Cosplayer, people can conclude that Cosplay is about playing a role of a character from anime, manga, video games and more.
(Cosplayers at Hobbycon 2013)

(Cosplayers at Hobbycon 2013)

Cosplay events are usually being hold at some anime, manga and video games conventions (Or Japanese Culture Events). Some example of the conventions are AFA Anime Festival Asia, Hobbycon (Hobbycon is being hold in Sabah, Malaysia.), Comic-Con , Comicfiesta and many more(Can Google for more). "-Con" stand for Convention.

Cosplay helps to improve the cosplayers skills especially in craftsmanship and make-up skills and more. This is because cosplay requires the cosplayers to make their own costumes and any important equipments so they can be more resembles to the character they are playing. But some of them buy the costumes from online shop and any cosplay store nearby.

Cosplay also requires the cosplayers to Role-play the characters. Usually by copying the characters habits, personality or more.

Manga and Anime

What is manga? Some people think that manga is a "mangga" (which means Mango in some countries such as Malaysia.) Anyway, the manga that I am going to write about was actually a Japanese words which mean comics. In Japan, almost everyone of all ages from children, teenagers, adults and elders(probably?) read manga. Manga has become a large part of daily life of community in Japan. Furthermore, Manga is also very popular in other countries outside Japan. Since manga is define as comic, what about the comic artist? In Japanese, comic artists or cartoonist are called Mangaka.

ANIME.

The meaning of anime is a Japanese Animation. Like manga, anime is also very popular in Japan and other countries

So there are some debates among the manga and anime lovers (anime manga fans or something like that.) about the terms of Manga and Anime. Example:-

Random people: //saw you watch anime// OH you watch cartoon?
Anime/Manga lover: THIS IS ANIME!

Situation which similar with the above. Basically anime and manga are terms that used to describe Japanese animation and Japanese comic.

From my point of view, Anime and Manga are very popular among all ages regardless gender because of the genres. There are many genres for anime and manga such as action, romance, fantasy, science-fiction, comedy, slice of life, mystery and many more.

Furthermore, the arts and illustrations of manga and anime are very attractive and unique. The arts are usually includes big eyes characters, spiky hairs, small nose, small lips, pointy shape face/chin, long legs and arms and many colors used.

(Example of anime. Title : Kuroko no Basket. I recommend this anime, so inspiring!)

So anyway, I'm going to keep this brief and simple. I am not that knowledgeable about this too but I love it so much and I want to enjoy them always. I hope anyone who might does not know about anime and manga know a little bit about them by reading my blog. Even though this is about animation and comic, it is worth to know about it because they are actually quite nice and have some nice quotes and inspiring too!

(So the video above is about brief history of manga and anime, which includes the years of manga created that was in World War II (If I'm not wrong.). For readers who have high speed internet and prefer to listen for a brief explanation of manga and anime can just watch the video above and the link below.)
